Cycle of Light
Artwork Description
This artwork is inspired by an ancient Achaemenid Persian symbol depicting a lion and a bull—an image carved in stone centuries ago, carrying stories of time, balance, and renewal.
At the center of the piece, a textured surface recalls the quiet strength of Achaemenid stone reliefs.
This textured core feels grounded and timeless, holding the memory of the past. Embedded mirror elements softly reflect the viewer, inviting them into the work and allowing a moment where ancient history meets the present.
The Kufic script that surrounds the composition moves like a silent rhythm. It is not meant to be read, but felt—a visual echo of memory, culture, and continuity. The writing becomes a border of motion, gently holding the artwork together.
This piece is a personal reflection on ancient Persian heritage, reimagined through contemporary materials. It speaks of cycles—of light and shadow, past and present—and of how history continues to live quietly within us.
